CHULA GETS IT DONE: Coworking & Community Support
Location: 4 Girls Coffee | Santa Ana, CA
Attendance: 25+ women RSVPs
CHULA HQ brought women together for a morning of productivity, connection, and community support at 4 Girls Coffee, a locally owned coffee shop in Santa Ana. With more than 25 women RSVPed, the gathering created an opportunity for women to show up, get work done, exchange ideas, build relationships, and support a small local business.
But this gathering meant more than just coworking.
Taking place in Santa Ana's Ward 4, the event came at a particularly difficult time for the surrounding community. Following recent ICE enforcement sweeps in predominantly Latino neighborhoods, fear and uncertainty have made many residents hesitant to leave their homes, visit local businesses, and participate in everyday community life. The ripple effect has been felt by small businesses experiencing reduced foot traffic and economic hardship.
We recognize that community building also means showing up when it matters most. CHULA was proud to bring a group of women into a local business, contribute to its foot traffic, support its owners, and create a space where women could continue connecting despite the challenges facing the neighborhood.
The takeaway: Community is more than networking. It's about showing up for one another, investing in the places we call home, and making sure local businesses and the people behind them know they are not alone.
At CHULA, we believe that when women come together, we can create meaningful impact — not just for ourselves, but for the communities we are part of.
